Things That Are Different Are Not the Same by Dr. Mickey Carter
Do you recall Jesus' sermon about prayer? He was trying to make his disciples understand that all good gifts come from the Father and used the example of earthly fathers to teach it. He asked those men around Him at that time and today, if our son asks for bread, would we give him a stone? If our daughter asks for a fish, would you give her a serpent? There is a difference, right, between bread and stones, between fish and snakes? As simple as it sounds, Dr. Carter's book teaches a similar, simple lesson about bibles. Things that are different are not the same. We're talking about the King James Version Bible vs. scores of modern bibles. If you make an honest comparison, you'll have to admit they're different; they're not the same.
Why do modern bibles delete or obscure what the KJV Bible clearly calls sin? The word "fornication" found in the KJV covers all types of sex sins, including pre-marital, extra-marital and same-sex relationships. Modern bibles replace this very concise word with the more obscure and ambiguous word "immoral." You can imagine then why the word "sodomite" is not going to be found in most modern bibles.
But if the Bible is the written Word of God, whose words are these and who authorized today's bible revisers to change the words of God? Read Dr. Carter's book and you'll find out. While you're looking at diffences, make a note that modern bibles tend to depict an entirely different Jesus. Wherever possible, He is not referred to as God the Son. He tends to fit the description of those cults who deny His deity. I need not name them. If you prefer these modern bibles, you walk with them for two cannot walk together unless they agree.
Dr. Carter's book sounds a warning to us that someone is trying to hide the true Word of God from us. Imagine who'd want to do that. As Dr. Carter explains, having a bottle of poison in the medicine cabinet isn't nearly so bad as having a bottle of poison mis-labeled as medicine in the medicine cabinet. His book involves the age-old conspiracy to deny the absolute truth of God and control the masses by controlling knowledge.
