Unanswered Prayers
“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.”

When I was five, I prayed for a pony. It seemed like a reasonable request. From the moment I was aware of the physical world in which I lived, I understood intuitively there was a spiritual force that controlled it. But in my innocence, I didn’t understand God. I listened to the preacher on Sunday mornings and concluded God was my creator, that he loved me and that he would answer my prayers because he loved me. He never gave me a pony, but he still loves me.
Do you have unanswered prayers? My pony prayer was one of many selfish requests. As I matured as a Christian, I learned God answers prayers with yes, no and later. When I published Legally STUPiD last year, I prayed earnestly that the Lord would bless the book with a 10 to one ratio, that for every book purchased, 10 children would be rescued from the public school system. It hasn’t happened. (I suspect some folks think the message was too scary. If so, they’ll think my next book’s a nightmare.) Did the Lord answer no or later? I don’t know.
I do know the Lord answers prayers, for the key is found in 1 John 5:13-15. You probably wondered why this essay’s title was paired up with such a strong verse of faith. The answer is simple. When we pray, we have to be sure what we’re praying for is in accordance with his will.
During a recent Wednesday night prayer service, I asked for prayer for our nation. The church member chosen to pray then asked the Lord to guide how we would vote November 4. That’s not what I asked! I asked for prayer for our nation, not how we should vote. America’s future is not just bleak; it’s black. (No pun intended.)
I heard a fellah say with all sincerity that anyone who did not vote for Obama was a racist. On the contrary, it can equally be said that the majority of those who did vote for Obama-Biden are racists, and those who did not vote for McCain-Palin are chauvinists.
Whether we voted for the Libertarian candidate or the Constitution Party candidate, the simple fact is that socialist McCain and spread-the-wealth, Commie-Obami were the only real choices we had this election. Now that the latter has his victory, as well as additional communist seats in the House and Senate, time will soon prove that our fellow Americans have voted America into extinction.
Consider this prehistoric analogy:
In the beginning, most men were hunters-gatherers (conservatives). They worked each day to hunt down or gather food, which they brought back to the camp to share with their women and children. Unfortunately, there were also spoilers (liberals) in the camp, those aged, invalid and just plain lazy sots who hung around the camp for a free meal and share the spoils of others. They were a tolerated nuisance at first, for if they were too demanding, the hunter-gatherers would simply turn their spears on them, drive them out of the camp or silence them permanently.
Soon though the number of spoilers increased, some perhaps refugees from smaller camps and some the children of hunter-gatherers who saw it was easier to be served than to serve. Their demand for a larger share of the spoils could no longer be ignored for while the hunter-gatherers were out hunting-gathering, the spoilers could spoil the camp and abuse their women and children. One day, some of the hunter-gatherers collected their women and children and set out to form their own camp. But they were hunted down by other hunter-gatherers who’d allied themselves with spoilers. Many were killed, the rest forced to return to the camp and contribute to the common needs of all.
This lasted for some time until there was a boiling point. The spoilers demanded so much from the ever-decreasing number of hunter-gatherers that war broke out, this time inside the camp. Most were killed; the rest left the ruins of the old camp and formed a new one.
History repeats itself. I’ve said before I’m not a prophet, but I see a hopeless scenario for this nation – a very dark future.
Not only did Obama’s political beast win November 4, he’ll have additional communists to the House and Senate ready to spread your wealth and teach you tolerance of those who would rob you with taxes and mentally molest your children through the humanist public school system and federally mandated acceptance of sodomite marriage, abortion up to three years old (unless you’re a right wing Christian, then there’s no age limit) protection of an endless variety of endangered species (except the fiscal and social conservative, who will be allowed to pass into extinction as quickly as possible). The Communists now control the executive and legislative branches. Rest assured Obami will soon appoint two ultra-liberal justices to the Supreme Court then no one will be able to check the unconstitutional legislation that flows from his rubber-stamp congress. The U.S. Republic is no more. It is now an oligarchy.
Forget about gun control. Think gun confiscation. Abortion on demand? I wouldn’t be surprised to see forced abortions on political dissidents. Talk radio, Fox television, you’re outta here. Israel, you’re on your own. Hate crime? Anyone who espouses anything contrary to That One will be guilty of hate crime. Baptists and fundamentalist Christians, they’ll find a special place for us, not unlike those nice little communities Hitler found for Jews.
Don’t worry about the economy. There won’t be one, except that your taxes will increase exponentially to support the tax cuts the Unholy Messiah promised his non-tax-paying constituents. Joe the Plummer-type small businesses will collapse around the country. Corporations will head for the hills, or more specifically, Europe and Asia. I recently learned over 250,000 Americans are already leaving America every year, some to Canada, most to Central and South America, a few to Europe or the Pacific islands. Expect that exodus to double. Middle class and real working class Americans who have no means to go and nothing left to lose will take a stand and fight. Civil war!
What if somehow McCain had won November 4. The democratic news media, which had invested so much of its time and money promoting their Anointed One would not have been happy. Neither wound the nine of every ten African-Americans who worship His Unholiness. ACRON, ACLU, NEA, Planned Parenthood, Nation of Islam and scores of other political organizations that plotted to rig the election would have charged that any election results that favored McCain were a fraud. Don’t worry about the war on terrorism. Civil unrest would lead to civil war.
What remains for us is to stop worrying about who won the election. That really doesn’t matter anymore. What Christians need to do now is pray. Pray like we’ve never prayed before. Pray for our personal sins, that we each get right with our Lord. Petition the Lord for our families, that they may be spared the wrath to come. Pray that I’m wrong about what I see as America’s future. Pray for God to personally intervene, not so much in the election results but the election aftermath. Please pray.
